Problem Cause Fix
Cloudy Water High bacteria level Check sanitizer level, add more of your sanitizer
Dirty Filter Clean filter, replace with new filter, or soak filter overnight in filter cleaning solution, rinse well
High TDS levels Water is saturated and needs drained, fill with fresh water (this should be done every 3-4 months)
Brown Water Mineral count is high Add a stain & scale preventer
Low Alkalinity Balance pH & Alkalinity
Green Water Algae growth Drain, clean and refill spa, flush out the lines (we recommend with Bath & Spa Cleaner)
Yellow Water Low pH Balance pH & Alkalinity
Foaming Water Soft water Test water, if needed add a liquid calcium

Chlorine Chemical Usage Instructions
Spa Start Up
Step 1 Start filling hot tub with fresh water
Step 2  Add 3oz. Stain & Scale while filling spa with cold water.
Step 3 Once water is above 80 degrees balance pH & Alkalinity (this may take several adjustments, see below)
Step 4 Add 1oz. Chlorine to water
Step 5  After 3 hours from adding Stain & Scale, or the next day add 1/2 oz Natural & Clear
  * Note Stain & Scale and Natural & Clear should not be added together, make sure at least 3 hours is in between adding, as they will work against each other if added too close together
After Each Use
Step 1 Monitor Chlorine levels with test strip (Dip test strip in water and match colors with bottle)
Step 2  If spa is getting heavy usage add 1/2 oz chlorine.
Weekly Maintenance
Step 1 Monitor Chlorine, pH & Alkalinity levels with test strip(Dip test strip in water and match colors with bottle)
Step 2 Add 1 oz. chlorine.
Step 3 Add 1/2 oz. Natural & Clear
Step 4 3 hours later add 1 oz. Stain & Scale
Step 5 Clean Filters, or replace with alternating set
Balancing pH & Alkalinity
Step 1 Dip test strip in water, match to color codes on bottle
*Note water should be 80 degrees or higher before adjusting water.
Step 2 If pH/or alkalinity is low:
add 1/2 oz of pH/alkalinity Up (+) to water, make sure water is circulating
→ Check water in 30 minutes, repeat if necessary until water is balanced

  If pH/alkalinity is high:
→ add 1/2 oz of pH/alkalinity Down (-) to water, make sure water is circulating
→ Check water in 30 minutes, repeat if necessary until water is balanced
